The Switch 2 is the console on the top of the list this year, and unlike most launches it earns the spot. The screen is bigger and sharper than the old Switch, the Joy-Cons attach with magnets instead of rails, it docks to the TV in the same way, and it plays the existing Switch library, so the games the family already owns come along. Mario Kart World launched with it.
It is the Christmas gift for a son or daughter who has been saving for it, the graduation present for a gamer, and the thing a brother or sister will not buy themselves at this price. One per household is enough; the second controllers are the cheaper add-on.
The system comes with the console, two Joy-Con 2 controllers, the dock and the cables. Games are separate. Stock comes and goes, so if it is in stock at list price that is the moment.
