This is the Millennium Falcon at a size and price most people can actually give: a 921 piece midi-scale model with the radar dish, the cockpit, the mandibles and a display stand with a nameplate, from LEGO's 25th anniversary Star Wars line. It builds in an evening or two and looks like the big one from across the room.
It is the Christmas gift for a son who is eleven and the Christmas gift for a dad who is forty-five, and it works for both because it is the ship. It is also the birthday present for a brother or husband who builds LEGO quietly at the kitchen table after everyone is asleep.
Rated 18 and up on the box, mostly for the display intent; a patient ten-year-old builds it fine. About 13 inches long when done. Under seventy dollars for the Falcon, which has never been true before.
