Do The Voodoo That You Do So Well
In the Americas Voodoo started out in the 18th Century as an underground activity. Thousands of enslaved West Africans were shipped to Haiti to work on French plantations. These people were eventually baptized as Roman Catholics, though they did their best to hold onto their own traditions. This melting pot effect had a profound effect on their culture, which spread to other parts of the Caribbean and the American South, where it has taken on a mystical life all its own. With such a rich history, it’s no surprise that so many people choose to don the guise of a voodoo practitioner at costume events, wearing ensembles like this Voodoo Dude costume.
Dude! You’ve Got Voodoo
This Voodoo Dude costume is decked out with cool and even creepy details. The double-breasted black magic jacket has vest panels sewn into side and the shoulder seams. The vest fastens via a series of silver-tone filigree buttons. There is also a series of sewn-on monkey hands hanging from cord. This costume even comes with an ornate molded vinyl skull mask covers upper half of face; elastic band around back of head. You can get this Voodoo Dude costume in adult sizes medium, large and extra-large.
